Jack
grew up around New York City, close enough to
absorb its culture, and just far enough away to
enjoy his youth exploring neighboring woodlands,
playing ball and savoring summers on the shore.
He moved Upstate in '68, took his backpack on
the road, and returned, taking a job with an upstart
local spaghetti sauce company (Ragu' Foods Inc.).
Ten years later, and now supervising the production
of ten million gallons annually, Jack considered
that new and more appealing environs would present
new and more appealing opportunities, and he ventured
to Mill Valley, California, where he still happily
resides. Having taken positions successfully managing
a printing components plant and then a bulk commodities
refinery, Jack opted for a completely new direction
- film production.
Through the late 80's and into the 90's Jack could
be seen riding the Shotmaker with Steven Spielberg
(Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade), Assistant
Directing for Prince (Graffiti Bridge), and coordinating
Industrial Light & Magic's plate photographyfor
several films, including Terminator 2, for which
they won an Academy Award. Nice work if you can
get it, though film production all but vanished
from the streets of San Francisco around the turn
of the century.
Preferring to adapt his skillset to a new direction
rather than to move to Los Angeles, Jack began
managing properties and, as his good luck would
have it, he met Ed Dale, Robert Simms, Kevin Wileyand,
literally, the entirety of the CitiScape staff
when he requested references from Ed. This appealing
group meeting sealed the deal, and Jack has dedicated
his efforts since that day toward returning this
good favor in continuing to deliver first rate
professional management and personal service to
the communities which CitiScape manages.
